Health initiatives by Indigenous people in Australia

This article explores the fact that the rate of infant deaths is three times higher in indigenous children than non-indigenous Australians. Alcohol related deaths and FASD are disproportionately high in Australia's indigenous population. Factors such as social and economic disadvantage, poverty, poor housing, lack of education, poor access to medical care, and low income are discussed.
