The FASD Hub hosted the virtual seminar: Understanding the needs of children & young people with FASD to effectively engage with the education system, on October 27 as part of its 2020 Virtual Seminar Series. 

Featuring the stories of educators, researchers and parents across Australia & New Zealand, the session focused on how to help children, teenagers and young adults with FASD navigate the education system.

The session was be moderated by Dr Hayley Passmore, alongside the following guests:

  • Tracey Jongens (NZ) – Resource Teacher of Learning & Behaviour and foster carer of two children diagnosed with FASD.
  • Judith King (Aus) – Principal, North Woodvale Primary School and Churchill Fellow 2018.
  • Nicole van Ingen (Aus) - Principal, Holy Trinity School Ashmont, Wagga Wagga and foster carer and adoptive parent of a child with FASD.
  • Neil Reynolds (Aus) - Foster carer of two children with FASD.
