This study reviewed pregnancy records of women with children diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) at a Queensland hospital to determine how these women could be identified early and offered interventions. The authors concluded there is the potential to identify women presenting for antenatal care who are heavy drinkers and who are at risk of having infants with FAS.
